<August> Polish TV on 6th August A polish TV station broadcasted "TORA!TORA!TORA!" on 6th August. This movie was produced by U.S.A and Japan 1970, and about pearl harbor... <July> Polish When I went to Poland, a polish got out of his car with Sony car radio. He told me because someone could steel it. Parking lots Some Czech parking lots are similar to Japanese one, but there are like special house for each car. They have to unlock the key first, drive into the house, then lock the key. It would seem that it's not so safe here. Pokemon Pokemon is very popular here... Japan embassy I called the Japan embassy in the Czech Republic, the n I said "Can I speak in Japanese?" The stuff answered "No..." She didn't give the phone to a person who can speak Japanese... Japanese European often say "Japanese eat rise all the time".... And they asked me what "Sake" makes from. Nokia It's not related to Czech. One of my American friends said "Some American think Nokia is Japanese company, not Finnish company. Because "Nokia" sounds Japanese word. I agreed with it. "Nokia" could be Japanese. And she said "It's really good marketing strategy! Everyone think it's made by Japanese company!" When she told those, there were one Finnish student... Made by Japanese company? One day when I looked for a speaker at an electrical appliance store, I found a box which is written Japanese language!!! I watched it carefully, then I realized it's not made from Japanese company, because the Japanese sentence were strange for us and I've never heard the name of the company. It's nice that people think Japanese company's product are high quality, but that was really funny!!! Chinese food If there are a mixed meal with vegetables, meat and source and rice, Czech people call it Chinese foods....It's really really super funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't stop laughing! And they have a special meat for Chinese foods in stores... Czech meat Almost Czech meat are cut like for steak. They don't have slice-meats. And most meat are sold completely without fat part. Czech universities Almost Czech universities are national ,and they don't require students much money. Czech people They often asked me "How many people do you have in Tokyo?". I answered "a bit more than all Czech people". Their responses were always "....". <May-June>
When Japanese show a distance, we often say "It's ** minutes by train" or something like that. But Czech always say "**Km"! They remember distances by Km very well. It's surprising... Czech people Usually they work from 8AM to 4PM or 9AM to 5PM. They never work until 6PM, 7PM,9PM....like in Japan. I guess it's normal in Europe. I realized why they say "Japanese work very hard." Czech people Czech think Japanese take photos too much... Czech people All Czech people remember one city in Japan, NAGANO. We had winter Olympic there. The country which got gold medal at hockey is the Czech Republic!!! It's like really pride for them. They become super excited when they beat Russia by hockey! Japanese YEN It's difficult to find one of strongest currency in the world "Japanese YEN" at exchange counters and Banks in the Czech Republic. Japanese Czech know "SAMURAI" "HARA-KIRI" "KAMIKAZE" "Mt.FUJI" "Shinkansen". I was asked why Mt.Fuji is important for Japanese. I was a bit in trouble. Czech people Czech students have to remember our main 4 islands "Hokkaido" ,"Honshu", "Shikoku" and "Kyushu". Of course not only Japanese islands, but also other islands in the world. the Czech Republic It was communism countries, east side of Europe. Some Japanese still think there are a county which is called "Czech Slovakia". And some Japanese people don't know whre it is in Europe or in the world. But! There are Sony, Panasonic, TOYOTA, HONDA, MITSUBISHI, AIWA, Nintendo and so on!!! There are many Japanese products!!!I couldn't imagine that before I came here. These prices are almost the same as in Japan. And we have chance to buy KIKKOMAN soy source and Sake here!!! Really thanks very much. Films We have many 400 type films in Japan. Is it sensitivity? I don't know exactly. It's one of very major types in Japan. But I couldn't find them in this country. There are only many 100 and 200 type film. |
