Creating a balance in the contours and appearance of the
body is a leading reason for cosmetic surgery: buttock lift
is a prime example of the way in which a relatively simple procedure
can re-craft the silhouette. Buttock lift can be requested
for a number of different reasons: to create the appearance proportionate
gluteal muscles, increase buttock fat, or simply to augment the
existing buttocks.
Some patients have their buttock lift

breast lift, or other procedures, while others only want
to have the single procedure done.

Others find that no matter how hard they work out, they can't
reverse what time and gravity have done to their buttocks. The hips,

often contain deposits of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise.
A buttock lift improves and/or removes excess, sagging buttock
and thigh skin that has developed as a result of weight loss, aging
and gravity, or genetics. The result is more flattering and toned

whose thigh appearance improves significantly simply from the manual
lifting of sagging skin.
In order for buttock lift to be performed using fat grafting,
the patient must have a plentitude of existing body fat to harvest
for use in the buttock lift. The fat may be taken from almost
anywhere on the body: flanks, back, thighs, abdomen, arms, etc.
For a buttock lift to be successful using the fat graft
method the fat tissue must receive a certain amount of blood supply
(known as vascularity), otherwise the fat cells will die and be
safely reabsorbed by the body. This will diminish the results of
the buttock lift, however, so it is important that enough
body fat be available to anticipate the potential loss of some volume.
The buttock lift procedure can be performed alone or
in combination with other operations such as a thigh
lift and abdominoplasty.
The combination of these three operations is often called a body
lift.
Like the face, the remainder of the body suffers the consequences
of time, gravity and in some cases significant weight loss. While
some areas are affected more than others, skin wrinkling and loss
of tone occur throughout the body.
