Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a "tummy tuck"
is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from
the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal
wall.
The surgical procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance
of a protruding abdomen. With abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck), the abdominal
muscles are stitched back together resulting in a more firm or flatter
stomach. During this procedure the excess skin is also removed.

abdominoplasty done in conjunction with liposuction to remove fat

Complete abdominoplasty usually takes two to five hours, depending
on the extent of work required. Partial abdominoplasty may take
an hour or two.
Abdominoplasty, whether partial or complete, produces excellent
results for patients with weakened abdominal muscles or excess skin.
And in most cases, the results are long lasting, if you follow a
balanced diet and exercise regularly.
The Abdominoplasty procedure can be performed alone
or in combination with other operations such as a buttock
lift and thigh
lift. The combination of these three operations is often called
a body lift. Like the face, the remainder of the body suffers the
consequences of time, gravity and in some cases significant weight
loss. While some areas are affected more than others, skin wrinkling
and loss of tone occur throughout the body.
