MILOSLAV JELÍNEK graduated from Conservatoire in Kroměříž and then from the Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Brno. During his study he participated in a number of interpretation competitions and won several awards, e. g. the First Prize in the International Competition in Kroměříž in 1984 and a Honourable Mention in the competition in Markneukirchen (1985).
Miloslav Jelínek is one of a few solo double bass players. He gives recitals in the Czech Republic as well as abroad, especially together with his wife. They have made a great number of radio, television and CD recordings. At present Miloslav Jelínek is a chief of the double bass group in the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches at the Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Brno. Also he is chairmen of the Czech Society of Double Bassists.
MARCELA JELÍNKOVÁ graduated from the Conservatire and Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Brno. In addition to her major subject, she also studied music under the pedagogical guidance of Professor Milan Máša, an outstanding interpreter of Janáček. In 1987 - 1988 she won a scholarschip and studied at the Music Academy in Riga.
Marcela Jelínková is active as a soloist and a chamber player as well. She gives concerts in theCzech Republic and abroad. She is lecturer at the Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Brno.
