According to "Evolution of world-wide acceptance of 2,4 and 5GHz bands,"Approval News, April 2004, Romanian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Order Number 423 (8 December 2003, in Romanian) designates bands for low-power devices and harmonises the 2400-2483.5 MHz band for IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g radio LAN applications. The 5.150-5.350 GHz and 5.470-5,725 GHz frequency bands are harmonized for RLAN use according to ERC/REC 70-03 Annex 3.

Before issuing a license, the Ministry needs to get the technical approval of the General Inspectorate for Communications and IT, which monitors the frequency spectrum and assigns frequencies..."

But T-Regs' Yves Blondeel reported on 4 January 2007 that "ANRC is being replaced by a new National Regulatory Authority for Communications and Information Technology (ANRCTI), under the same leadership and with the same staff."
