"AT&T and MobiTV to provide live TV via WiFi hot spots"

by Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet, 10 May: "Watching TV wherever you go just got easier thanks to an agreement between AT&T and MobiTV announced today.

"To meet rising customer demands for more broadband-enabled content, MobiTV and AT&T have announced they will provide AT&T customers with a MobiTV service that allows them to watch live TV whenever they are in one of AT&T's WiFi hot spots... The new service will be available this month at 7,000 AT&T owned and operated WiFi hot spots including airports, coffee shops and bookstores.

"A basic channel lineup package for $11.99 a month or a $5.99 fee for 24-hour sessions will be offered. The MobiTV service provides 15 channels including news, sports, entertainment and music videos. To offer customers more enhanced services, plans to expand their hotspots and offer more premium channels are in the works..."
