License exempt WiMAX? - survey of OECD countries

Earlier this month, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) issued a report by Taylor Reynolds on "The Implications of WiMAX for Competition and Regulation." The report seems skeptical about WiMAX's suitability for license exempt radio bands. Nevertheless the results of a survey of OECD member countries in 2004 are included. One survey question was: "Are operators allowed to use WiMAX technologies in the licence-exempt spectrum bands (e.g. 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz)?" We extracted the answers and added links to our own country research, which focuses on WiFi and short-range devices. Click here to see "WiMAX and License Exemption: A Survey of OECD Countries."
